The main design feature of the Gemera is the lack of a B-pillar and two large dihedral doors which open forward to allow easier access to the leather upholstered four-seater cabin. The car features electronically adjustable ride height. In line with other Koenigsegg models, the chassis has a carbon fibre monocoque with aluminium sub-structures. The engine can run on both E85 bio fuel and gasoline and has a titanium exhaust system manufactured by Akrapovič.īeing the first all-wheel-drive model, the Gemera has all-wheel steering and torque vectoring. The range on the 54 MJ (15 kWh) battery pack is claimed to be 50 km (31 mi) and while in hybrid mode the range extends to 1,000 km (621 mi). According to Koenigsegg, the combustion engine weighs only 70 kg (150 lb). The engine also features cylinder deactivation with which it is claimed to be 20 percent more fuel efficient than a typical four-cylinder engine of the same displacement. The engine uses a system of solenoids to activate the intake and exhaust valves instead of conventional camshafts. The given combined peak output is produced when the engine runs on E85 fuel.
Power comes from a 2.0 litre Koenigsegg Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG) three-cylinder with 2 turbochargers camless piston engine driving the front wheels, rated at 447 kW (600 hp 608 PS) and 600 N⋅m (443 lb⋅ft) of torque, as well as three electric motors (two at the rear and one at the front), with a combined peak output of 1,268 kW (1,700 hp 1,724 PS) and 3,500 N⋅m (2,581 lb⋅ft) of torque.
